Spearmint Energy has begun building on Revolution, its 150 MW, two-hour battery vitality storage undertaking in West Texas, in partnership with Mortenson, an influence engineering, procurement and building (EPC) contractor with expertise in wind, photo voltaic, transmission and distribution, repowering, and battery vitality storage.
Mortenson will design and construct the undertaking, developing the battery storage facility, substation and transmission line connecting the undertaking to the ERCOT grid.
Revolution marks Mortenson’s twentieth battery vitality storage undertaking.
“Revolution will present essential grid resiliency and reliability providers to allow the continued deployment of low-cost renewable vitality in ERCOT at a time when our nation is grappling with challenges introduced by a altering local weather, rising oil and pure fuel costs, rising demand for electrical energy, and the impacts of provide chain constraints, inflation, and tariffs on the development of recent era amenities,” states Andrew Waranch, founder, president and CEO of Spearmint.
