Singapore regulator issues fresh appeal for clean power – Policy

Singapore’s electrical energy and gasoline regulator has issued a second name for electrical energy imports because it goals to obtain 4 GW of unpolluted energy by 2035.

The Vitality Market Authority final week stated it had opened a second request for proposals (RfP) for turbines to produce electrical energy to the town state.

A primary RfP, issued in November 2021, attracted 20 proposals from photo voltaic, wind, hydro and geothermal energy turbines in Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, and Thailand to export clear energy to Singapore.

The regulator stated all these proposals – which amounted to 1.2 GW of electrical energy imports from 2027 onwards – would mechanically be thought of underneath the most recent RfP.

Contemporary proposals might be submitted till December 29, 2023, the EMA stated.

The regulator added, it has began operation of its Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Energy Integration Challenge, which is able to see as much as 100 MW of electrical energy generated in Laos exported to Singapore through Thailand and Malaysia.
