EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) has began development on a 240MW utility-scale photo voltaic PV challenge in Milam County, Texas.
The corporate expects the Cattlemen Photo voltaic Park challenge to be operational in 2023, with a complete funding of practically US$280 million.
The challenge has secured two long-term energy buy agreements (PPAs): one with Meta, father or mother firm of Fb, for 156MW and a 60MW PPA with biopharmaceutical firm Bristol Myers Squibb.
EDPR NA is exploring the usage of single-axis trackers on the plant.
Kris Cheney, government vp at EDPR NA, mentioned: “Cattlemen is EDP Renewables’ first photo voltaic park in Texas and can quickly be our largest operational photo voltaic park in our North American portfolio.”
EDPR NA continues its development within the photo voltaic market after its father or mother firm EDP introduced final 12 months plans to extend its photo voltaic PV capability by 9.3GW by 2025, of which the bulk (5.5GW) might be in North America.
