Emirates Water and Electrical energy Co. (EWEC) is ready to carry its fourth public sale of fresh vitality certificates (CECs) this week. The Emirati utility introduced the small print final week. The subsequent public sale can be held in Abu Dhabi on June 14.
The Abu Dhabi-based entity held its first public sale of CECs in September 2021. The organizers of the scheme claimed that it was the primary program on the earth to challenge certificates that classify nuclear energy era as “clear vitality.”
The Abu Dhabi Division of Power is issuing the certificates in megawatt-hour blocks. They are often purchased by vitality customers to offset the carbon emissions related to the vitality they devour.
The final CEC public sale was held in March. EWEC introduced the fourth CEC public sale by urging extra vitality offtakers to take part. Final October, the utility signed a deal to provide sufficient certificates to cowl “as much as 100%” of the electrical energy consumption of Abu Dhabi Nationwide Oil Co.
